Fantasy Football Week 7 Projections: QBs
October 18, 2011 by Uzo Ometu

The world of fantasy football lives on. For most of you, the writing is just about on the wall. There are not enough weeks left to mount a staggering comeback at this point in the season. So if you aren’t close to .500 at this point, you’re probably done for the remainder of the fantasy football.
However, for those you who still have life left as we enter Week 7, here are our fantasy football projections for Week 7 of the NFL season:
Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Saints are coming off a rough loss last week, and nothing cures a loss better than a visit from the Indianapolis Colts sans Peyton Manning. The Colts, while remaining feisty, are doing a pretty damn good job of keeping the “Suck for Luck” campaign alive. There’s no doubt that an angry Drew Brees and New Orleans Saints team comes through with a victory in Week 7. More importantly, Drew Brees will leave this game with some pretty astounding numbers. The Colts secondary has been spotty, their defensive ends have gotten old, and offense can’t stay on the field long enough to give the defense a break. If you don’t like Drew Brees in Fantasy Football Week 7, then you just don’t like Drew Brees.
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
At some point, the Green Bay Packers are going to lose to somebody, right? Well, Week 7 against the Vikings isn’t that time. It’s also not the time that Aaron Rodgers stops looking like God’s gift to quarterbacks. Rodgers is playing bonkers right now. His season-to-date Total Quarterback Rating of 85.6 is 10% higher than anybody else’s in the entire NFL, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe he is on pace to throw for 5 gazillion touchdowns this season (okay, the projection is actually closer to 45). Against the hapless Minnesota Vikings, there is no way that Rodgers slows down his pace. The Vikings pass defense entered the season weak, and in Week 7, they are without their best player in the secondary. So here’s to a big week for what is seemingly the NFL’s MVP to this point in the season.
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers at New York Jets
Rivers has been an utter disappointment this season. Call me bias, but he has performed so horribly for my team, that I’m seriously considering opting for Matt Hasselbeck for the rest of the season. In Fantasy Football Week 7, the Chargers square off against the New York Jets. Given Rivers’ season-to-date, I really cannot expect too much out of him. Even we are to believe that the Jets defense has many holes, Rivers hasn’t been so adept at stockpiling the stats and fantasy football points against defensive units far worse-off than the Jets. So if you are expecting a big day from Philip Rivers in Week 7, you might want to think your plans over. On a separate note, I hear Hasselbeck is available in 50% of ESPN leagues.
