Fantasy Football Week 12 Predictions: Quarterbacks

There are a lot of good matchups win Week 12, which should provide for some interesting fantasy football breakdowns. Here’s what’s happening with some of the quarterbacks in fantasy football Week 12.

Tom Brady, New England Patriots at New Orleans Saints
Say what you will about the golden boy’s start to the 2009 fantasy football season, but it appears that he is back and in full effect. And I fully expect him to have his mojo going against a New Orleans Saints defense that has shown some holes over the past few weeks. Granted, earlier I projected Drew Brees having a better day than Brady, but that doesn’t mean Brady won’t have a very good fantasy outing. In fact, because the Saints defense has been kind of suspect, I am really looking forward to how the Saints cover Moss. It would appear that they are going to have to double cover him a lot, despite having an inclination to blitz as they have for much of this season. But if they do get tempted, and they do bring the blitz as often as they usually do, than Saints defensive owners might want to watch out, because Brady will unlikely throw a barrage of touchdown passes.

Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
I guess we shouldn’t sleep on the Chiefs too much after their thrilling victory over the Steelers. However, I am going to go ahead and do just that. Rivers should have no problem having a killer day against the Chiefs. Even in victory, the Chiefs gave up over 500 yards of offense and about 400 yards through the air. That gives me plenty of reason to believe that Rivers is going to do whatever he wants, whenever wants, to this Chiefs defense that is having all kinds of trouble with the deep ball. Besides, the Chargers running game is looking strong, which means the Chiefs will have to mix in some 8-man fronts. That should be all Rivers needs to complete the explosive plays downfield and give your fantasy football team an advantage as we edge closer and closer to the playoffs.

Kurt Warner, Arizona Cardinals at Tennessee Titans
Assuming Warner plays this week, and it is a big assumption given his injury, I fully expect him to dominate the Titans. Yes, the Titans pass defense is slightly better with Courtland Finnegan back at the cornerback position, however, they still have to start one rookie corner, and that’s all Warner needs to exploit the Titans. The Titans currently have no pass rush, and their linebackers are horrible at underneath coverage. That’s a recipe for disaster. And because Warner has Anquan Boldin, Larry Fitzgerald and Steve Breaston to choose from, the return of Courtland Finnegan will have very little effect on this game, as Warner should light the Titans up in fantasy football Week 12.
