As you know, I picked QB Philip Rivers to have a big day against the Atlanta Falcons less-than mediocre pass defense. Well, now I’ll return the favor to the Falcons and make my Week 13 fantasy football prediction in favor of them at the wide receiver position.
Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons vs. San Diego Chargers – Let’s not get too complicated on this one. It’s very simple. Roddy White is one of this year’s top 5 wide receivers in the NFL. The San Diego Chargers’ pass defense is the absolute worst (32nd ranked) in the entire league. Do I even need to continue?
The fact of the matter is that the Chargers just can’t cover anyone. And without the pressure usually applied by OLB Shawne Merriman, the cornerbacks of the Chargers are exposed as the moderately talented cornerbacks that they are.
But I’m sure that Roddy White will try to take it one step further and make the Chargers defensive backs look like defensive ends at the end of the day. You can rest assure that with his speeds, size, and hands, he’ll catch the Chargers in 4 or 5 mismatches that turn into 2 or 3 really big plays on the day.
In the end, as I predicted before, the Chargers will win this game, but not without Roddy White going to town on the NFL’s weakest pass defense this season.

Tedd Ginn Jr., Miami Dolphins at St. Louis Rams

Week 13 Fantasy Football Predictions - Running Backs
There’s nothing like having a top running back on your fantasy football team in Week 13 of the season when the weather is bad, the temperature is cold, and the game is a little bit more physical. That’s why the guy to the right is going to be very valuable to a lot of fantasy owners this week, and I’ll explain why in Week 13 fantasy football predictions.
Larry Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders – Don’t sleep on Grand-mama just yet! Because he looks like he may have gotten his groove back as we enter Week 13 of fantasy football.
I know, I know. It’s hard to believe it, but after selling on Larry Johnson for probably the last 9 or 10 weeks, I’m finally buying him, and at a very low price might I add. Larry Johnson’s 81 yards last week may not have been all that big of a deal to you, but they should have been. First of all, he got those 81 yards on a mere 7 carries against the a tough Buffalo run defense. In addition to that, he had 100+ yards from scrimmage on the day when you include his 24 yards worth of receiving production. So all and all, that was a very good day for Mr. Johnson, even though he only had a few chances and the Chiefs gave up more points than they ever have.
That being said, Larry Johnson will have an even better week this week? Why? Because they are playing the Oakland Raiders; a team that ranks 29th against the run, and they aren’t getting any better at it anytime soon. In fact, even in victory last week, the Raiders gave up 115-yards rushing to a Denver Broncos offense that is playing with its 4th string running back!
So it’s doesn’t take a whole lot of common sense to know that Larry Johnson is in for a big day against the Raiders defense, and it is quite possible that head coach Herman Edwards is aware of this. And if he is, we all know that Herm has no problem running his running back into the ground if it means that he can control the clock and limit the opposing offense’s opportunities.
Now, I know many of you are worried about the emergence of rookie RB Jamaal Charles. Well don’t be. While he has been very productive as of late, if Herm is giving the option of running Charles to death or running Larry Johnson to death, he is going to pick Johnson, who is well more equipped to handle such a load. So have no fear in playing LJ this week, as he should put on one of the more dominant running back performances of Week 13 in fantasy football.

Ronnie Brown, Miami Dolphins at St. Louis

Well, you’ve waited (patiently, might I add) and now I shall finally deliver you TheSportsWatchers.com top fantasy football pick at the quarterback position for Week 13. I know you’re looking at the picture now and wondering why, but I’ve got good reason.
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers vs. Atlanta Falcons – I know. Everything seems to be against me with this pick. The Falcons are playing great defense. DE John Abraham has been a beast at sacking the quarterback. And to add to that, the Chargers haven’t exactly been lighting it up on offense over the past 2 weeks. But rest assure, the Chargers offense will put up points this week, and they’ll do it against the Falcons.
Philip Rivers was the best quarterback in fantasy football for the first couple of weeks of the season. And despite what you might think, that hasn’t changed much. Right now, Rivers is the 3rd best quarterback in all of fantasy football as we enter Week 13, and I think you will see and #3 quarterback type of performance against the Falcons.
Why do I say that?
Well, while the Falcons defense has seemed good from plain sight, a deeper look at the numbers will tell you that the Falcons are giving up over 350 yards per game which ranks 24th in total defense. More specifically to Rivers case, the Falcons have trouble dealing with the pass more so than the run, as they rank 23rd against the pass, giving up 230 yards through the air per game, along with an opponents’ quarterback rating of 82.1.
I think it’s fair to say that Rivers and the Chargers 7th ranked passing offense can have success against a team that is giving up those kinds of numbers this season. So it is my Week 13 fantasy football prediction that Philip Rivers has one of his best games of the season. I’ll event throw in the fact that I believe that the Chargers will win this game via the pass, and you can take that to the bank—not that TheSportsWatchers.com condones gambling of any sort!
