Week 10 Fantasy Football Predictions: Wide Receivers

Don’t sleep on the wide receivers in Week 10 of fantasy football. I know a lot of wide receivers, like Brandon Marshall, Terrell Owens and Reggie Wayne came up short last week, but in Week 10, expect some of the big names to bounce back, and bounce back strong!

Here are my Week 10 fantasy football predictions at the wide receiver position:

Brandon Marshall, Denver Broncos at Cleveland Browns – That’s right! I’m going with the guy who put up the biggest egg last week, Mr. Marshall himself. But don’t worry about last week’s performance having any effect on him. Marshall is one of the best 5 receivers in the league, and this week he is going up against a Browns defense that doesn’t have a clue about how to defend the passing game. Expect Marshall to have a big day catching the ball down the field, and over the middle, where the Browns are very weak at covering intermediate gaps with their linebackers. It is my Week 10 fantasy football prediction that Marshall has a very big day on Thursday night football—to the tune of at least 150 receiving yards and a score. How’s that for a bounce back game?

Andre Johnson, Houston Texans vs. Baltimore Ravens – Johnson had a slow week last week with just 62 yards, but he did up a score, so don’t call it a comeback for him. He’s been here for weeks—doing what he does that is, which is racking up the receiving yards! In Week 10, he’ll go up against a Ravens defense that will probably be without their two starting cornerbacks, and I just don’t see how on Earth they can stop Andre Johnson with their 3rd and 4th corners trying to play defense against him. The truth is, they can’t! Which is why Johnson may have his biggest game of the season, even if QB Matt Schaub doesn’t play in Week 10. Sage Rosenfels certainly knows how to get him the ball, and I fully expect Johnson to take it…again, and again, and again, and again! All the way to the tune of yet another 100+ yard performance for what is the NFL’s best wide receiver.

Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers – Don’t think Reggie Wayne can score against a defense that just obliterated the Washington Redskins? Think again! The Steelers played a great game on Monday Night Football, but in Week 10, it’ll be a different story. Sure, they’ll try to get to the quarterback, and they may even do it well enough to win the game. But Wayne will get his. The Steelers drop into that fire zone coverage way too often not to leave themselves open to being taken advantage of by Peyton Manning and Wayne’s on the fly adjustments. Expect Wayne to get a lot of balls thrown his way as he is sure to drive the cornerbacks deep on blitzing plays, resulting in lots of space underneath, where he and Manning will hook up on many occasion in Week 10 of fantasy football.
