The juggernaut is ready for yet another big performance in Week 7 of fantasy football. That makes trading for him, picking him up, or putting him on your payroll a must in Week 7.
Brandon Jacobs, New York Giants vs. San Francisco 49ers – The New York Giants are one of the most balanced teams in the NFL. They can throw the ball almost as equally well as they run the ball.
The key word though is ALMOST.
Brandon Jacobs is a beast at the running back position, and those of you who have had him on your fantasy football rosters to this point in the season know that he is a beast of a fantasy football pickup as well. His undeniable destruction of linebackers and secondary players on running and passing plays is a beautiful thing to watch, and it is even that much more beautiful when he is racking up the fantasy football points for your team.
This week, Jacobs faces a 49ers team that gave up 93 yards and a 5.2 average to Correll Buckhalter of the Philadelphia Eagles. If they give that up to C.Buck, they’ve got no chance of stopping one of the most punishing running backs in the game. The Giants offensive line is much more cohesive than the Eagles line is right now, and if Jacobs needs a breather, he can take off a few plays because of the wealth of depth the Giants have at the running back position.
But don’t let that depth scare you from starting him on your fantasy football team here in Week 7. That depth is a good thing in his case, just like having Michael Turner behind LaDainian Tomlinson for all those years was a good thing for LT. It means that someone else can come in and keep the running game respectable while tiring out the defense, making it all that much easier for the feature back, ala Brandon Jacobs, to come in and continue doing what he does.
Plus, you don’t have to worry about Jacobs having his touchdowns taken away from him. He is the go to guy in the running game when the Giants get close to the end zone, so he’ll got all of the potential short-run touchdowns plays. And believe me, there will be plenty of touchdown opportunities for Jacobs against the permeable defense of the 49ers.
